Who We Are

The story, the structure, and the belief behind the Wilson & Birtha Family Betterment Fund — and why we’re now helping other families build the same thing.

What We Believe

Live Rich, Not Die Rich

It began with a simple conviction: it is better to live rich than to die rich. Wealth is having money; prosperity is enjoying it — and the deepest joy is watching the people you love enjoy it with you.

This fund exists to give during a lifetime, not only after it, so the family can prosper now and for generations to come. It is not a will read once at the end — it is a working system that serves real people while they are here to use it.

In the Founder’s Words
“Provide a social, educational, and financial foundational pact enabling our family members to prosper and transform our individual, work, and family lives.”

The Structure

A Living Fund, Held in Trust

The Betterment Fund is three things at once: a dependable safety net for the hard moments, a wealth-building engine for the future, and a lasting legacy for the next generation.

It is held and protected through a family trust — the legal structure that lets it outlive any one of us and keep serving the family for generations. Establishing that trust is what turns a good intention into a lasting institution.

How We Run

Organization & Funding

The fund is family-run and family-governed. A small, trusted group stewards the money, reviews benefit requests, and keeps the operation running — while the benefits, initiatives, and legacy carveouts belong to every participant. It is sustained by ongoing family contributions and the investment vehicles that put the fund’s money to work.

Our Principles

What We Value

Five principles guide every decision the fund makes — and every family member it touches.

Family First

Family is of fundamental importance — we show up for one another.

Lifelong Learning

We stay curious and keep growing, at every age and stage.

Financial Strength

We build, preserve, and pass down real financial security.

Teamwork

We pool our strengths and lift each other higher.

Humility

We stay grounded, grateful, and of service to the family.

Where We Come From

Our Roots

None of this exists without the elders who paved the way. We honor our ancestors and our lineage as the foundation everything else is built on — the blessings, the sacrifices, and the example that made a fund like this possible.
